Artifact 1 - Imperialism Role-Play
In Global Studies I completed an Imperialism ROLE-PLAY activity which required me to take the role of the country I was assigned and replay the Berlin Conference with 4 other people who acted as neighboring countries. This was an opportunity for me to practice my agility and adaptability skill, because I had to be agile and adapt to the arguments that my peers had taken up while fighting for land in Africa. Having agility and adaptability shows that I am able to efficiently adjust to whatever situation that I face. While I did a good job with this skill because I was able to adapt to what my countrymen wanted while also getting what my country needed, I need to improve in the area of getting to my point faster and more efficiently. I can achieve this by preparing for more broad topics that could come up so that I can have a few options to adapt to in a situation of this. I can also build my agility and adaptability by knowing a little of everything. If I know a little of everything then I have a greater variety of knowledge and will be able to adapt to almost any type of situation.
Artifact 2 - Oil Drilling Persuasive Essay
In English I completed a persuasive essay about my side on the controversial topic of oil drilling after doing a speech which required me to adapt to the amount of time we had to work on it since our speeches took a little longer than we had expected. This was an opportunity for me to practice my agility and adaptability skill, because I had to agilely adapt to the amount of time we had to write the essay. While I did a good job with this skill because I was able to transition from an unbiased speech to a persuasive essay, I have to improved in the area of using the knowledge I already had about oil drilling from the speech I had done. I achieved this by being ready to adapt and agilely doing so.
Artifact 3 - Evaporation Lab
For my third artifact showing agility and adaptability, I completed an evaporation lab where I found the different speeds of evaporation with different types of alcohols . This skill means the ability to effectively adjust to different types of situations quickly and being prepared to handle every kind of problem that presents itself in a fast manner. This assignment demonstrates these skills because I had to adapt to the situation where my whole lab group had not been in class for the 2nd lab day doing the PSAT and I was the only one who could collect the data for my group. I could improve in this skill by preparing beforehand on the assignment while also going through thoroughly every problem that may present itself.
