Artifact 1 - Sometimes in April Congressional Speech
In Global Studies I wrote a Congressional speech from the perspective of an American politician in 1994 about the genocide in Rwanda. This was an opportunity for me to practice my Creativity and Imagination skill, because I needed to write the story from the viewpoint of a Politician and had to address the situation in Rwanda to millions of Americans. Being creative and using imagination means that I think out of the box and am able to form a mental image of the where and what I am according to the information given. While I did a good job with this skill because I accurately portrayed a Political leader in 1994, I need to improve in the area of getting more into character. I can improve on this skill by looking more into the topic I am working on and/or trying to make. I can get inspired by people who have worked on projects like this prior to me.
Artifact 2 - Math Fair Project
In math I completed a game for the math fair which required me to think of and construct a game that has something to do with math that smaller kids could play and enjoy at the fair. This was an opportunity for me to practice my creativity and imagination skill, because I had to use my mind and thoughts to think of a game that can be both fun and educational. While I did a good job with this skill because I effectively came up with a creative idea for a project/game, I improved in the area of preparing before actually constructing and/or going through with the project. I achieved this by carefully planning out with my group and accounting for every situation.
